2018-2019 Concert Series

The Fremont County Community Concert Association is very excited to announce its 2018-2019 Concert Series, bringing an exciting series of concerts for your enjoyment.  Again, we are bringing internationally known artists to Fremont County.

Our opener for the 2018-2019 Concert Series will be the September presentation by Douglas Cameron - SWING YOUR STRINGS. Doug - violinist, vocalist, guitarist, songwriter - is the featured performer in this exciting duo. Doug performs hits of the Big Band Era, takes tried and true Suzuki songs and adds alternative styles, has long been a favorite on jazz radio internationally, and is considered one of the true innovators of jazz violin. He is well known for his dynamic performances and trademark BLUE ELECTRIC VIOLIN.

Next in the 2018-2019 Concert Series we will enjoy The Cashore Marionettes. Their program - LIFE ON MOTION - will be enjoyed both by children and adult audiences. The marionettes, their clothing and all the props have been made by Joseph Cashore. Mr, Cashore is an accomplished artist and his talent in sculpture and portraiture is evident in his marionettes. His wife, Wilma, is his assistant for his November performance.

Joining us in February 2019, pianist Fredric Chiu was born and raised in America by Chinese immigrate parents and is now a long-time resident of France. He has become world-renowned, performing in major European, Asian and African cities as well as throughout the USA. With over 25 CDs on the market he has won major recognition in Stereo Review, The New Yorker, Wall Street Journal and the New York Times.

Magic happens whenever Elisabeth von Trapp walks into a room and begins to sing. "Before the concert is over, she will have the crowd gasping with the sheer beauty of her voice", Boston Globe. Granddaughter of Maria and Baron von Trapp, Elisabeth sings and strums the songs of the Sound of Music as part of a repertoire ranging from Bach to Broadway...Shubert to Sting...Rogers & Hammerstein to Mozart and Puccini and her comments and reflections between songs are a part of our "Elizabeth von Trapp experience" in March.

We will end our 2018-2019 Concert Series with the Denver Brass5. We are very excited to bring the recital quintet representing the internationally recognized Denver Brass to our stage in Cañon City. The musicians, full-time professionals and educators, will provide an exciting and entertaining conclusion to our Concert Series.

Enjoy this exciting season by either renewing your membership or by becoming a new member of the Fremont County Community Concert Association for the 2018-2019 Concert Series.  Encourage your friends and neighbors to also enjoy these exciting performers.
